Ohhhh man.  You wanna know why the moneychangers were in the temple (before Jesus lost his shit on them)?
It's because it was the LAW that you had to donate if you were passing through town.  Not everyone carries the local currency, so to pay your, like, visitor tax, you had to get it converted to the local currency.  They were in the temple so people didn't have to go halfway across town, then carry local dollars all the way back to the temple.
