What would your life be like if 4chan never existed?

Wetfish might not exist, and even if it did, it would be very different.

Without 4chan I would have never met castalia, haitani, justin, treefire, or gris.

Without justin there'd be no wetfish forums.

Without castalia there'd be no !slapanus and no svchost and no Mozai.

Without treefire there'd be no Soupwhale, and therefore there'd be no yam, libfud, Rothen, Frob, KittyKatt, or Weazzy -- all users who came from Soupwhale. By the way, Soupwhale got 90% of its members by offering free SSH accounts to /g/ users on 4chan...

Kate, emcy, wiiam, and oranges all came from Tox, the open source chat project, that was started on 4chan's /g/ board.

Without 4chan there'd be no 420chan, which means pibdgaf would have never existed either.

That means no kakama, heath, mj, loaf, solo, spidey, olmec, shelby, svaj, or sonatia.

If I never met spidey, I might have never heard of Teeworlds.

Heath and MJ are the reason I met my husband, so I might not even be married if it wasn't for 4chan.

So yeah, I am very thankful for 4chan. It's changed all of our lives.

I met Andrew in a slack room that was linked with a "view source" challenge on /g/. I wouldn't be the CTO and co-founder of an investor funded company with about a dozen engineers working under me if 4chan had never existed.

I'd never have found Wetfish if not for 4chan; I followed some TCP connections from Soupwhale to find this place, and I was only ever on SW because Hexplore told me about it when we were in school together (and he was of course only there because John posted about it on /g/.)

Also... I sort of grew up on 4chan; it was my high-school Internet hangout from ~2005-2009. I don't know how my mannerisms and ways of thinking would have evolved otherwise.

shrugs maybe better? maybe worse? sure all that stuff would never have happened but who's to say better things wouldn't have happened? what would've filled the gap?

I don't like thinking about this stuff because it makes me anxious. I think about what my life would've been like if I was adopted by different people a lot, and it never fails to depress me.
