"manly men" who hunt and fish generally are pro environment regulation, pro cleanup. in the 1970s there were fish with sores on them, rivers on fire, wild animals were diseased..

generally i think its education thats key. like "burning your trash? that shits coming back down in the water. would you breathe the smoke? no? then why are you making everyone drink it"
