when I log on to most modern social
media profiles what I notice is that
people are always showing the best

when they succeed
when they do something properly
when they get the hot girl
when they get the great job
when they get the promotion
when they're on vacation

but you very rarely see when things are done wrong
or the results of things that are done wrong

part of it is because a lot of people just don't want to admit
to the things that they've done wrong

because it's painful it hurts to reflect
on how your personal failings have made your life a little bit less successful

and it's even harder to then express
that to the world on a public forum
where tens of thousands or hundreds of
thousands of people can realize just what an idiot you are

but the problem is
that if we're only willing to show the best
then people have less of an opportunity to learn

Definitely one of his best videos. I've slowly been learning to follow a similar philosophy, though certainly not very well.

Also the introspection is my favorite part of drinking, I used do that a lot more and I miss it. The alcohol brings it back and I wouldn't have it any other way easily one of the biggest reasons I drink at all.
